Knee Pain And Bone-on-bone Arthritis
After a severe meniscus tear (knee injury) the pain never stopped. I was taking heavy duty pain meds for two years. Then I started using wintergreen and cypress and had immediate relief, applied to the knees about 4-5 times per day. Then started using NingXia Red 2oz per day, Sulfurzyme 4 caps per day, and BLM 4 caps per day. After 6 weeks, the pain was gone and I didn’t have to use the oils. That was three years ago. Knee Pain Due To A Torn Meniscus And Arthritis
I consider myself an atheletic individual and I go to the gym at least three times per week, take long walks, and play tennis when I have the time. However, about a couple years ago, I began to suffer from knee pain. In fact there were times when the knee pain was so painful, that I could not walk.
At this point, I decided I needed to go to the doctor to have them determie what was causing the knee pain. So, they performed an MRI, scan and x-ray and found that I had a torn meniscus and some arthritis.
After that discovery, they referred me to a physical therapist for physical therapy twice to three times a week, and gave me pain medication, like Vicodin, and some other medication to help with the pain. Because I do not like the side-effects associated with all medications, I started to look for alternatives.
I have a friend that I told about essential oils and she suggested that I use the PanAway by rubbing it on the area of pain twice a day, and taking two packets of NingXia Red daily. After I began following this regimen, the pain in my knee began to disappear, and now it is totally gone.

Getting Relief From A Torn Meniscus
After receiving the news of having a torn meniscus in my right knee, I was in search of relief other than the options given to me at the Orthopedic’s office. I don’t want cortisone shots nor do I want to undergo surgery. I found a combination of oils that seem to work for me and have shared this information with others who also have a torn meniscus at the gym that I frequent. They have also felt some relief and feel they can carry on without cortisone shots as well. Here is what I am using:
Wintergreen Oil: 5-6 drops
Balsam Fir Oil: 4 drops
Marjoram Oil: 4-5 drops
Lemongrass Oil: 3-4 drops
Frankincense Oil: 4 drops
I apply these neat, but if you have sensitive skin, I would recommend using a 50:50 of V-6 Complex or other therapeutic grade vegetable oil with the essential oils. I drop the oils onto the area in which the pain is exuding and rub it in with my fingertips, applying pressure to the spot to work it in. This gives me the relief I need to go to the gym each day. As a matter of fact, I just went for my 3 month check-up since tearing my meniscus today, and the doctor was very impressed with my range of motion and told me to keep up the good work. He told me I do not need to come back unless new symptoms appear.
I also use ice once or twice a week before and after my most strenuous workout days. Mind you, this is usually 3 hours at the gym (Zumba, Aerobics, and Yoga or Body Pump). This combination may not heal my meniscus as it is very hard to do so, but it has given relief and I am doing a lot better than I was 3 months ago. (My pain rating went from a 7 to 1-2!
