Thriving Tip: Insomnia & Sleeplessness

Lavender Essential OilGood morning

What a magical day it is in Sydney today – oh I love this weather. I think it is because nature feels so alive – it is as if you can feel the plants growing, and the birds can’t stop tweeting and laughing : )

In this week’s ‘Thriving Tips’ I have included a few bits and pieces I have come across in the last week or two – sunlight and food allergies, two great quotes : )  And what Essential Oils to use for Insomnia and Sleeplessness …

Enjoy … until next time : Karin Amali

Insomnia & Sleeplessness

Thank you to those of you who came along to the Thriving Class ‘Using Essential Oils for Everyday Health Issues’. I shared how to use essential oils when are experiencing 30 different physical health issues – like insomnia, colds, headaches, flu, sinus issues, and back problems. It was great to hear the changes people experienced after just one application on their hand.

One health issue that has been coming up frequently is – Insomnia and Sleeplessness. The Young Living Essential oils that the ‘Essential Oils Pocket Reference’ recommends are the roll-ons Ruta VaLa, Tranquil, Valor and Stress Away. Or the essential oils – Lavender, Peace & Calming and Valor. How do you determine the best oil for you – connect to your intuition and ask yourself or muscle reflex test yourself or just try one. As Gary Young (the founder of Young Living) says if it doesn’t work within 5 minutes try another oil : )

I just checked the www.oil-testimonials.com website for what people have used in the past. Lavender seemed like a popular one and also Ruta VaLa Roll on. Here are just two testimonials:

Since my body started going through menopause, going to sleep at night was becoming a challenge. Now that I apply lavender oil to my neck, relaxing and falling asleep is no problem! http://www.oil-testimonials.com/essential-oils/5524

I have had years and years of insomnia for the past 20 years.I also have Epstein Barr Virus which is a form of Chronic Fatigue. With EBV added to insomnia, it has been very challenging all these years. I read about the Ruta VaLa ‘roll-on’. Wow!! What a difference. I just started it in September of 2010. I roll it on the bottom of my feet, my wrists, my brain stem and the top of my head. I am literally asleep in a matter of 10-15 minutes or less. It used to take me hours to get to sleep and I used to wake up 5-6 times a night…..now I only wake up once, and go back to sleep. If you wake up, you can re-apply it to get back to that deep sleep.
It has also helped me with my depression, which I have had for years also. Since taking the Ruta VaLa roll-on, I have noticed that I am no suffering with depression hardly at all. I am 90% better with my depression and 100% better with my insomnia.
Try it, you will be amazed. http://www.oil-testimonials.com/essential-oils/4780

Sunlight could help prevent food allergies

A study published this week by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, based in Parkville Victoria, has found a potential link between sunlight exposure and allergies. Children in southern parts of Australia with less exposure to sunlight were found to be more likely to develop food allergies and eczema than those who lived in the sunnier north of Australia.

The study, which has just been published by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in the February 2012 Journal issue of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, was based on data from over 7,600 Australian children and how rates of food allergy, eczema and asthma varied from the north, (the state of Queensland), central (the state of New South Wales) and south (the states of Victoria and Tasmania) of Australia.
